“ We’re the oldest business in Perry County," the Engle Funeral Home moved to its current location on 301 East Main Street in the 1940s. Since 1907, the funeral home has added a Chapel at the 301 East Main location, witnessed various renovations and even undergone a slight name change. The funeral home would become Engle-Bowling Funeral Home when Wayne E. Bowling purchased the business March 1, 2012. Engle-Bowling Funeral Home was one of three funeral homes to accept recognition for 100 years of service at this year’s annual Kentucky Funeral Director’s Association convention. There are only around a dozen funeral homes in the state to have reached the 100 year milestone.
